Security Features

1. No Magnetic Stripe: New Real ID versions lack a magnetic strip, replaced with 1D and 2D barcodes for enhanced security and scannability.

   
   

2. UV Ribbons: Under UV light, flowy ribbon-like designs are visible around the top and left side of the card, including over the photo ID and near the airplane and date text.

   
   

3. Header Design: The word “Connecticut” appears in blue at the top left-hand corner of the card, separate from the blue header labeled “Driver’s license.”

   
   

4. UV Features: Special designs like a UV whale and airplane with visible outlines under UV light; the airplane is light red and white, and the whale is grayish and white.

   
   

5. Perforated Dotted Whale Outline: A small, non-UV dotted whale outline on the back left side of the ID card, emphasizing detail accuracy in replicas.

   
   

6. Unique ID Number Format: Connecticut driver’s license ID number begins with the birth month number, adjusted by adding 12 if the birth year is even.

   
   

7. State Shape and Letters: A black outline of Connecticut with the letters “DL” to the right of the ID photo, visible in natural light and exclusive to the driver’s license.
