Security Features

BLACK REAL ID: The Real ID symbol, positioned on the front top corner of both the Operator’s license and Identification card, features a unique black circle with a white star inside, differing from the typical gold color found on other state IDs.

• Operator License Header: The Indiana driver’s license is distinctly titled “Operator License” instead of the common “Driver’s License” and is printed in orange ink, located in the left-hand corner.

  
  

• Fine Microprinting: One of the primary security features on the Indiana Operator’s license and ID cards is the use of laser engraved text, which cuts out pieces of the card instead of using ink, making it a critical detail that differentiates authentic from counterfeit cards.

  • Ghost Image: Features a black and white ghost image of the full ID photo with a bust of the cardholder, surrounded by a faded yellow circle resembling a halo.

  • Indiana State Seal in UV Ink: Printed in UV ink, the Indiana state seal on the front of the Operator’s license is only visible under a blacklight, showcasing the capability of UV ink printers to handle detailed printing accurately.
